About the Centre

There is so much rich history
in our Childcare Centre, that it's difficult to know where to start illustrating it all for our visitors.  We recommend starting with Aims of the Centre and then move on to Getting to the Heart.  It's not at all comprehensive, but we hope that you will get a good idea of who we are and what our purpose is here in this community.

If you have any questions at all about our Centre, please don't hesitate to contact us by phone or by e-mail ... we look forward to hearing from you!

Aims of the Centre

Cedar Grove Childcare Centre is a ministry of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and exists to provide quality child care with biblical teaching and instruction to the community (see Cedar Grove’s Statement of Faith - page 22). It is our desire to provide a wide variety of activities and opportunities to share the teachings and love of Jesus Christ with the children and their families.

Luke 18:15-17 – “The people were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children and said, ”Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

We are a Christian facility, our centre philosophy is based on the Bible and we teach children that God loves them and wants a personal relationship with them.

  • We strive to model positive character traits that will help children develop into caring, responsible adults.
  • We teach the children to respect and value themselves, others and the environment around them.
  • We provide a safe and secure environment that allows for fun and creativity and endeavor to challenge each child to enhance their personal uniqueness.
  • We regularly evaluate our routines and schedules to best meet the child’s needs throughout the day, and we work in close communication with each family, recognizing they are the primary caregivers of their children.

Why the Apple

The Apple Puzzle

The reasons are simple, but oh so important ... here's why we chose this symbol:

  • the Apple is bright, colourful, and simple
  • the Apple symbolizes reciprocal care, the care a child has for a teacher because of the care the teacher has for the child ... it's beautiful really
  • the puzzle pieces symbolize the four Aims of the Centre:  1) positive character,  2) respect,  3)  safety and security,  4) working together in community
